Attacks[edit]

Thailand[edit]

Suspected insurgents stormed a security checkpoint in southern Thailand and killed at least 15 people, including a police officer and many village defense volunteers, and wounded five others. The attackers, in the province of Yala, also used explosives and scattered nails on roads to delay pursuers late.[1]

One of the Mexican tourists and a Jordanian tour guide were seriously injured. Among the injured, there is a bus driver who was stabbed while trying to stop the assailant from entering a cafeteria full of tourists.[2]

Democratic Republic of the Congo[edit]

Ten civilians were killed in an attack in eastern DR Congo blamed on an Islamist-rooted armed group based in Uganda. The victims were both stabbed and shot.[3]

Burkina Faso[edit]

Five buses of a Canadian mining company transporting employees to a mine were attacked in eastern Burkina Faso. The convoy, escorted by military personnel, was composed of buses transporting national employees, contractors and suppliers of the Mining Exploration Society in West Africa during the attack, SEMAFO wrote in a statement. 37 people were killed, and 60 others injured.[4]

Tajikistan[edit]
