Aquantus Brown (born September 14th, 1975) better known as A.K. $hay is an American rapper and producer. He was born and raised in Adamsville, Atlanta, Georgia, and is an American rapper, songwriter, and music producer. Known for his lyrical storytelling, Southern-rooted sound, and entrepreneurial spirit, A.K. $hay has become a prominent voice representing the everyday triumphs and struggles of life in the modern Black South.
He is the co-founder of Southern World Entertainment, a creative collective and label. He made his recording debut on Freak Nasty's album *Controversee... That's Life... And That's the Way It Is*, the album that contained the very successful song Da Dip.

A.K. $hay grew up in the historic Adamsville neighborhood, once called Lick Skillet.
