AERO Federal Credit Union is a credit union based in Glendale, Arizona, that operates 9 branches throughout Maricopa county in Arizona. AERO Federal is federally insured by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration). AERO Federal has approximately 18,000 members and manages nearly $275 million in assets as of March 2021.

History[edit]

AERO Federal Credit Union was originally named Sperry Phoenix Employees Federal Credit Union and was chartered in 1958 to serve the financial needs of the aerospace industry. Through a series of mergers, local divisions of Sperry were merged with Honeywell. In November 1999, the credit union changed its name to Honeywell Aerospace Federal Credit Union. In 2009, the credit union changed its name to AERO Federal Credit Union.[2] In 2014, AERO expanded their charter to better service the underserved areas within Maricopa county. [3]

Membership[edit]

AERO Federal currently serves approximately 18,000 members. Individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in designated areas within Maricopa county may join AERO Federal Credit Union.
