AKFA University (AU) is a first private university in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. AU was established according to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan in 2019.[1]
AU's core mission is to train the next generation of doctors, engineers, scientists, and architects through an innovation-oriented environment equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. AKFA University has set its vision and mission as a roadmap to being a top university with its determined development targets, academicians, managers, and administrators.
Campus
AU owns 25 hectares of land in Tashkent city, the capital of Uzbekistan. When developing the design of the campus, special attention was paid to creating amenities for students, professors, and university staff, as well as guests.


The campus will be designed for 10,000 students and it includes several zones: an educational zone, a residential zone, an administrative zone, a social zone, a cultural zone, a sports zone, and a healthcare zone. University stands out with its attention to the creation of green zones and the environment for people with disabilities.

Academics
AU is a large, young university that has been accredited by the state since 2019.[2]
The university trains highly qualified specialists in fundamental, medical, exact, and humanitarian disciplines. The study will be in English and lasts for 4 and 6 years according to students' majors. Graduates receive a diploma in higher education.
Research, discovery, and quest for truth are the critical characteristics of a university. AKFA University is aware of these responsibilities and devotes itself to creating an intellectual environment where both students and faculty members can conduct productive and effective research together.
Undergraduate program
AKFA University is offering various 17 undergraduate programs. The School of Medicine consists of 4 undergraduate majors including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing while the School of Engineering includes Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Design, and Applied Mathematics. School of Education offers English Education and Journalism. School of Business comprises Accounting and Finance, Economics, International Business, Startup Management, Digital Marketing, and Law.
Graduate program
Currently, AU is offering one graduate program in Master of Business Administration.
Collaborations
The educational process is carried out in partnership with leading international research institutions, including Gachon University in the medical area (South Korea), TED university in the engineering area (Turkey), and Colorado State University in the business area (USA).
Ranking
In 2021, AU became the first non-governmental higher education institution in Uzbekistan to be included in THE Impact Ranking which is devoted to assessing the impact of universities on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), formulated by the United Nations for the period up to 2030. [3] In 2022, AU has retained its place with 1001+ in THE Impact Ranking [4]
People
Students
In 2019, 908 applicants enrolled in AU. In the following years, the numbers increased to 1269 in 2020 and to 4100 in 2021. Undergraduate students came from both different regions of Uzbekistan and foreign countries including South Korea, India, and neighboring countries. Understanding the importance of the support of applicants, AKFA University offers merit scholarships, academic scholarships as well as English proficiency scholarships. For the first semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, AU provided scholarships worth more than 3.22 billion sums to its students.
Faculty and Staff
As of 2022, AU has nearly 50 faculty members. Faculty are responsible for lecturing classes, advising both undergraduate and graduate students, and for sitting on academic committees, as well as for conducting original research.
