The APCN Humanitarian Awards (APCN Awards) were established in Benin City in December 2008.The award is the highest humanitarian awards of the organisation to recognize the contributions of an individual, Organisations, entertainers, Countries, Politicians, Newspapers with a special focus on immense contributions to humanitarianism with exemplary efforts..[1][2]

2008 APCN Awards[edit]
The first edition was sponsored by Nigeria Guiness plc . The ceremony was held in Benin City Edo state in 2008, at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. The award was first received by Majek Fashek and it was presented by Victor Uwaifo and "Ambassador Becky Edionewe". The award ceremony was broadcasted on Channels TV and Nigerian Television Authority with other local radio stations[3]

2009 APCN Awards[edit]
The 2nd Apcn Awards show took place on 11th November 2009 and was held at the Trinity College Dublin in Dublin. The show was broadcast on by Hugo Duncan on BBC Radio Ulster and hosted by Volunteer Ireland.

2013-2014 APCN Awards[edit]
The 6th and 7th editions show took place on same month of 11th November annually, and was held at same location in University of Benin (Nigeria). The show was broadcast on Nigerian Television Authority and hosted by International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Edo state unit.

The 11th Apcn Awards show took place on 3rd November 2019 and was held in Dublin. The show was broadcast on air by BBC Radio Ulster and Facebook live . The ceremony was hosted by Amb.Becky Edionewe[4]and co hosted by Lord Mayor of South Dublin mayor Cllr Trevor Gilligan PC [5]
2020 APCN Awards[edit]
The twelfth edition was took place on the 1 November – 7 December 2020. Hosted by Evi Edna Ogholi and was broadcasted live on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube live streaming[6]. Unfortunately artistic performance and other social gatherings between honorees and event organizers wasn't successful, The awardee plaques were posted to honorees through post, due to COVID-19 pandemic threat and social distancing safefy laws implemenented by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [7][8][9][10]
