ARaymond is a French industrial limited partnership, founded in 1865[3], which manufactures and offers fastening products in the fields of mobility, industry, energies, agriculture and life[4]. It is based in Grenoble, France.[5]
More than 8,000 people work for ARaymond, which acquired rival company Tinnerman Palnut in 2009.[6]
History
ARaymond began as a company that manufactured buttons, specifically for boots and gloves. The company was founded by Albert-Pierre Raymond. In 1886 he received a patent for a novel press-stud, also known as a snap fastener. Since Albert-Pierre, the company has been run by Achille Raymond, Albert-Victor Raymond, Alain Raymond, and Antoine Raymond. After developing products for the textile industry, in 1935 ARaymond began producing clips for the automotive industry made out of spring steel. Then, in 1955, ARaymond began manufacturing parts using plastic injection molding. As recently as 1989, Quick connect fittings have been part of the portfolio.[7]
International Expansion
Over the years ARaymond has expanded its presence in 25 countries.[8] These include countries such as USA[9], Canada [10], India[11], Germany[12], and South Korea.[13] Customers include companies such as Ford Motor Company[14], Tata Motors, Volkswagen, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra and Mahindra, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Bajaj Auto.[15]
