A Course Of Action is an American rock band from Connelly Springs, North Carolina that is signed to Star 1 Records.[1]
History
Lead guitarist Jonathan Byrd had success in the early 1990s in the band Copperhead; once the band disbanded, he and founder Tony Hawkins formed the band Hybrid in the year 2000.[1]
They recruited for three years to find their lead singer, and in 2003 they found John Culberson, a South Carolina native who had regional success in the band "True To One".[1]
After a few lineup changes, the band added Florida natives JT Silvestr on drums and Wes Johnson on bass guitar. Since then, the band has been making strides month by month by playing many local shows and even some major festivals. The band was honored with an AFE Tour for the troops in 2008.[1]
In 2011, the band released their debut album "Dark Before The Dawn; it was released by Spire Records on June 3, 2011.[1]
The band garnered some label interest in 2012 but never found the right fit, so they didn't sign.[1]
In 2013, the band held their very first SXSW showcase.[1]
In 2014, the band had dates playing the Rocklahoma music festival and the main stage at the Sturgis bike rally.[1]
In early 2015, it was announced the band had signed to Star 1 Records and are scheduled to release their sophomore album titled "Treason" through Universal Music Group's distribution network, INgrooves.[1]
The first single from the album "Treason," titled "Who We Are," was released in January 2015, although an original recording of the song was released in 2014.[1]
