A Date at the Tower
A Date at the Tower [1] aliases: Meeting at the Tower (Arabic: موعد في البرج translit: Maww’ed fel Borg or Mawed fe elborg)[2] is a 1962 Egyptian film directed by Ezzel Dine Zulficar and starring Salah Zulfikar and Soad Hosny. Film's costume and set designer is Shadi Abdel Salam. As with many Egyptians movies of the golden age of Egyptian Cinema, it combines drama, action, and romance. The film pairs two of Egypt's most beloved stars, Salah Zulfikar and Soad Hosny who made magic together onscreen as star-crossed lovers destined to meet again at Cairo Tower. The film holds a mirror up to Egyptian society in early 1960s. It ends up with the date agreed between the two main characters at the newly built, Cairo Tower.[3][4][5][6]
