A Girl Called Apple (Arabic: تفاحة, transliterated as Toffa’ah) is an Egyptian drama film released on June 9, 1997. The film is directed and written by Raafat el-Mehi, and it stars Laila Elwi and Maged El-Masry. The film tells of a beautiful woman named Zeinat who is deeply in love with her husband Hassan but constantly harassed by her employer, Qadriya.

Synopsis[edit]
Beautiful Zeinat (Laila Elwi), nicknamed Apple (Toffa’ah in Arabic) for her beauty, works for the Ministry of Finance under a domineering supervisor named Qadriya (Magda El-Khatib), who is childless and on her ninth marriage. Qadriya proposes a temporary nine-month marriage to Hassan al-Fatari (Maged el-Masry), Zeinat’s husband, so she can adopt Zeinat’s child. Hassan takes the offer, hoping to inherit after her death, yielding many comic misunderstandings in the love triangle.
