A Girl Searches for Her Father (Russian: Девочка ищет отца) is a Soviet film directed by Lev Golub, shot at Belarusfilm studios in 1959 and is based on the play of the same name by Yevgeny Riss, which was later revised by the writer into a novel with the same title.
Plot[edit]
The film is the story of Lena, the young daughter of Panas, a Soviet partisan commander. Lena has been hiding with an old man in a house in the forest, but the Nazis are looking for her for a long time, hoping to use her as a hostage. The Nazis believe they have finally found her, and call the old man and the girl to meet with them. The old man tells his grandson, Yanka, to run away with the young girl, which he does[1].[2][3][4]
Recognition[edit]
Lead Actress Anna Kamenkova won Special Mention at the Mar Del Plata Film Festival in Argentina in 1960. This film was also a nominee for Best Film that year.
