Plot
Malik, an aspiring filmmaker, meets Sam, a driven doctor. Their unexpected connection forces both to reevaluate how much they’re willing to sacrifice for love. As their careers intensify, the relationship is tested by old wounds, family expectations, and creative calling.

Production
Principal photography took place in Charlotte, North Carolina. McLeod completed the film on November 3, 2024, having previously worked as a cinematographer on short films and branded content.[1]
Release
A Season for Love premiered on February 1, 2025, at the San Diego Black Film Festival. It was subsequently screened at the Rhode Island Black Film Festival and the Filmteenth International Film Festival, where it won Best Narrative Feature.[2] It was released to TVOD platforms on June 3, 2025.

Critical response
