Aalijah "AK" Kelly (born September 19, 2003)[1] is an American football wide receiver who most recently played for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Early life and high school

Kelly was born on September 19, 2003, to mother Terri Robinson-Kelly and father Keith Kelly. He grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and attended Greenville High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and track & field.

Football

In his senior season, he helped his team to a record of 10-3 at Greenville Senior High for a total of 24 catches for 522 yards and six touchdowns with 21.8 yards per catch. He participated in the Touchstone Energy Bowl North South All-Star game for the North team.[2]

Track and field

Kelly led his team to two back-to-back AAAA State championships.[3] He was named the 2022 SCHSL AAAA State Championships Champion with a long jump of 23' 1.5 while finishing second in the triple jump with a jump of 45' 10 and fourth in the high jump with a jump of 6' 2. His best events were the Long Jump and Triple jump where he had personal records of 23' 11 in the Long Jump and 46' 3.5 in the triple jump. He holds the record for the Long jump and the 4x100 at Greenville Senior High School.[4]

College career

During his true freshman season in 2022, he decided to redshirt and extend his eligibility an extra year.[5]

On December 4, 2023, Kelly announced that he would be entering the transfer portal.[6]

Personal life

The first child of Keith and Terri Kelly. His father, Keith Kelly, played running back for Clemson Football in the early 2000s. His mother, Terri Robinson-Kelly, was a four-time All-ACC standout track athlete at Clemson; she was a part of the 4x100 champion team at ACC Outdoor Championships. She finished 8th nationally in long jump in 2002, holds the record for the 4x200, and ranks top 5 in Clemson history for the 55m, 60m, and long jump.[5]

His sister, Aamari Kelly (16), is a freshman at Easley High School, and is a track athlete and soccer player there. She is a standout track athlete and was the #1 2026 female triple jumper in the country for the 2022 outdoor track and field season and holds the Easley High School record for the triple jump.[7]
