Aaron Burke (born December 3, 1983) is an American pastor, author, and church planter. He is the lead pastor of Radiant Church in Tampa, Florida.[1][2][3] Burke is affiliated with church planting organizations such as the Association of Related Churches (ARC) and the Church Multiplication Network (CMN).[4][5]

Early life and education

Burke was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and later moved to Pensacola, Florida. He became involved in ministry at age sixteen and was influenced by the Brownsville Revival, a Pentecostal revival movement that took place at the Brownsville Assembly of God.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern University in 2005. He later received an MBA in 2010 and a Doctor of Ministry in 2020, with academic work in theology and organizational leadership.[6][7]

Ministry career

Radiant Church

In 2013, Burke and his wife, Katie, founded Radiant Church in Tampa, Florida.[8][9][10][11] The church initially held services in a renovated movie theater in the historic Britton Plaza.[12] Since its founding, Radiant Church has expanded to multiple campuses across the Tampa Bay area.

Renovations of the church facility in 2016 included a café, children’s area, and advanced audio-visual equipment.[8] The renovation was covered by Fox 13 News as an example of innovative church development.[13][12]

In 2019, Outreach Magazine listed Radiant Church among the fastest-growing churches in the United States.[14][15] As of 2025, the church reported an average weekly attendance of nearly 9,000 and announced a merger with Driven Church in Brandon, Florida.[16]

Church planting and leadership

Radiant Church is the 343rd church plant supported by the Association of Related Churches (ARC), which provides financial and mentoring support to new churches.[17] Burke also serves on the lead team of the Church Multiplication Network (CMN),[18] where he contributes to leadership training and church development.[19][20]

Outreach and humanitarian work

Radiant Church organizes an annual Serve Day, mobilizing volunteers for local service projects in the Tampa Bay area. The church also supports international missions, including in Sri Lanka and India.[4] Following the 2019 Easter bombings in Sri Lanka, Burke expressed condolences and affirmed continued support for relief efforts.[21]

Radiant Church has contributed to disaster relief during events such as Hurricane Michael (2018), Hurricane Ian (2022), Hurricane Helene (2024) and Hurricane Milton (2024), organizing supply drives and volunteer outreach.[22][23]

Media and publications

Burke hosts the Made for More Leadership Podcast, which discusses leadership, strategy, and personal development.[4][24] He has appeared on Christian media platforms such as Life Today,[25][26] Daystar Television Network’s Ministry Now,[27] and the UNSCRIPTED podcast.[28]

In 2021, Burke spoke at the Influence Conference during the Assemblies of God General Council, addressing themes of leadership and resilience.[6][29] In 2023, he was quoted in The Wall Street Journal in an article about church growth strategies.[30]

Selected works

Public engagement

In 2015, Burke gave the invocation at the second-term inauguration of Florida Governor Rick Scott, after being invited by Attorney General Pam Bondi, a regular attendee of Radiant Church.[34][6]

Personal life

Burke married Katie in 2010, and they have five children.[5][7] He is an avid CrossFit athlete who has competed in the CrossFit Open in the 40–44 age group.[35]
