Aaron Gregory

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Aaron T. Gregory (born March 8, 1997) is a UK citizen and co-founded broadcast company SHOUTca.st and is now Founder of internet company The Innovating Group LLP. Gregory also founded community radio station Fresh Coventry & Warwickshire. Gregory is currently recognised as an internet radio magnate and successful teen entrepreneur.

Early life[edit]

Gregory was born in Coventry, United Kingdom. He first attended Cardinal Wiseman secondary school, proceeding to study Health & Social Care at Warwickshire College in the town of Leamington Spa. From here, Gregory applied for a position with the South Central Ambulance Service as an Emergency Care Assistant, as part of the UK's National Health Service. Gregory currently works full-time for the ambulance service and considers his involvement with internet radio as an hobby, rather than a career.[1]

SHOUTca.st[edit]

In early 2012, Gregory worked with colleagues Ethan Gates and Maartje Eyskens to create an internet radio portal that allowed the general public to start their own internet radio stations using technology such as SHOUTcast and Icecast. Since 2012, the company claims to have supported over 20,000 radio stations worldwide. Gregory has been heavily involved in development of SHOUTca.st's own streaming technology, named Cast. SHOUTca.st claims that their intention is to innovate and modernise both hardware and software of an upcoming industry, which Gregory claims will soon overtake listenership on traditional broadcast methods such as AM, FM & DAB broadcasting.[2][3]

Radio Broadcasting[edit]

Whilst studying, Gregory began researching internet radio and ultimately began broadcasting on various small-scale internet radio stations across the UK. In late 2013, Gregory started his own internet radio station, named Hit1FM[4] (now named Fresh Coventry & Warwickshire)[5][6]. Fresh claims to play local musicians throughout its daily programming and provides training and support to aspiring local residents in radio and journalism. Fresh is widely recognised as a training platform that allows aspiring journalists and radio presenters to gain experience and training, free of charge. Gregory emphasises that Fresh aims to be a link between residents and businesses in the local area.[7] Gregory's radio station broadcasts from central Leamington Spa and reaches a listenership of 2000 daily in Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa and Warwick.
