Aarran Luke Saul Zachary Racine (born 30 October 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Torquay United, on loan from fellow National League club Forest Green Rovers.

Career[edit]

Born in Worthing, West Sussex,[2] Racine joined the Southampton academy at under-15 level, signing a professional contract in October 2008.[4] He was released in May 2012 without making a first-team appearance.[5]

On 7 August 2012, Racine signed for Conference Premier club Forest Green Rovers on a three-month contract as cover for injuries.[6] A week later, he made his first-team debut with the club,[2] playing 90 minutes and scoring in a 2–1 away win over AFC Telford United with a header.[7] Having established himself as a regular in the team, Racine signed a two-year contract with Forest Green on 13 September 2012.[8]

By now captain of the club, Racine signed a new two-year contract with Forest on 26 May 2016.[9]

On 1 December 2016, Racine joined Forest Green's divisional rivals York City on loan until 7 January 2017.[10][11]

On 26 January 2017, Racine joined Forest Green's divisional rivals Torquay United on loan until the end of the 2016–17 season.[12] He made his debut two days later,[2] starting in a 3–1 home win over Gateshead,[13] although he suffered an injury when his leg buckled underneath him, with his fall giving away a penalty kick.[14]
