Aasan R. Rajendran is an Indian varmakkalai practitioner, martial artist and stunt choreographer. He choreographed the actor Kamal Hassan in the 1996 Tamil-language film Indian directed by S. Shankar.[1][2] He has been teaching this art to many students in Madurai, not only for self-defence but also for healing.[1][2] Aasan Rajendran has been practicing this art for the past 50 years.[3]

Rajendran performs both Kuthu Varisai (body contact) and Silambam (using weapons) styles of combat.[4][5]
