Aatif Awan

Aatif Awan is a Pakistani-American businessman and investor. He is the founder and Managing Partner of Indus Valley Capital.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Aatif was born and raised in Lodhran, Pakistan. After graduating with an engineering and Computer Science degree from GIKI, he went on to complete his MS Computer Science at University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

Career[edit]

Awan started his career as a Program Manager at Microsoft, and went on to become Senior Program Manager for Bing. In 2011, he moved to the San Francisco bay area to join LinkedIn, where he lead Growth and International and Data Products. He helped LinkedIn grow to over 500 Millions users internationally.[2] He also led LinkedIn's product integration with Microsoft after it got acquired by Microsoft.

Indus Valley Capital[edit]

Awan started advising and investing in startups during his time at LinkedIn. In early 2018, he lead first round of investment in Atoms and joined its board of Directors. In 2019, Awan founded Indus Valley Capital, a venture capital firm that specializes in providing seed-stage funding to technology companies focused on Pakistan and MENA region. It has since led investment in Airlfit, Bazaar and AimFit.[3]
