Abbas Radikovich Gallyamov (Russian: Аббас Радикович Галлямов, Tatar: Аббас Радик улы Галләмов, Bashkir: Аббас Радик улы Ғәлләмов, born 30 May 1972) is a Russian political scientist and campaign manager of Tatar origin. He is known for serving as a speechwriter for Vladimir Putin during his premiership from 2008 to 2010.
Biography[edit]
Gallyamov was born in Chelyabinsk in 1972. He graduated from the Bashkir State Pedagogical University in 1995 and from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in 2001. In 2003, he obtained a Candidate of Sciences degree in political science at RANEPA.
From 2001 to 2002, Gallyamov worked as a spokesman for the Union of Right Forces political party.
From 2002 to 2008, he served as the Deputy Special Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan to the President of the Russian Federation.
From 2008 to 2010, Gallyamov worked in the Government of the Russian Federation as a speechwriter to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.[1][2]
In 2010, Gallyamov returned to Ufa, where he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Bashkortostan under President Rustem Khamitov until 2014.
In July 2017, Gallyamov joined the Public Chamber of Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast. From 2018 to 2019, he was a member of the expert advisory body for the Central Election Commission of Russia. In 2020, he joined the expert council of the New People political party.
Gallyamov's political essays were published in Vedomosti, Forbes, Republic. Currently, Abbas Gallyamov regularly appears in the broadcasts of Russian-language online media as a political analyst and makes political comments for some international media. He also runs his own Telegram channel.
On February 10, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Justice included Gallyamov to the foreign agents list for the distribution of materials created by foreign agents, statements against the Russian invasion of Ukraine, participation as an expert and respondent on information platforms provided by foreign structures.[1][2]
