Abdullah Sulaiman Al Rajhi (Arabic: عبد الله بن سليمان الراجحي) is a Saudi businessman,[1] born on January 20, 1958,[2] He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Rajhi Bank, one of the largest banks in the Arab world, the bank is ranked sixth among the 100 most powerful companies in the Arab world for the year 2021 by Forbes.[3]

Abdullah Sulaiman Al Rajhi holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from King Abdulaziz University in 1979.[4]
Career[edit]
He has been in the banking and financial services industry at Al Rajhi Bank for more than 35 years. During his career at the bank, he has worked in different capacities and roles and has risen to leadership positions.[5] He started his career with Deputy Director General for Financial Affairs (1982 - 1983) to become later Deputy Director General for Investment and Foreign Relations (1983 - 1994) Then, rise to be First Deputy Director General (1994 - 1996 ) ,only two years I carried him from his previous position to become General Manager (1996-2004) Then, he continued to climb the career ladder to be Chief Executive Officer (2004 - 2012),[6] parallel to it became Managing Director and CEO (2008 - 2012).[7]

In 2008, he established the Farabi Petrochemicals Company, and became the Chairman of its Board of Directors after one year in 2009. in 2014 Abdullah chaired the board of directors of Al Rajhi Bank.[8] And by the year 2017, Abdullah managed to head the management of each of Al Rajhi Capital and Al Rajhi Holding Group,in addition to being the Director of both Green Vision for artificial grass and Saudi Company for Manufacturing Carpet Materials In 2021,[9] he was appointed as chairman in Al Rajhi Takaful.[10]
Social Memberships[edit]
During the year 2021, King Salman’s approval was issued for Abdullah Sulaiman Al Rajhi to join the Board of Trustees of the Families of Martyrs, Injured, Prisoners and Missing Persons headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,[11] Abdullah is a Vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the Research and Educational Programs Support Fund, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Endowment.[12] And he had previously held a position Member of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research .[13]
