Abhijeet Gholap (born January 1, 1972) is an Indian entrepreneur, researcher and film producer.[1]
Early life and education
Abhijeet Gholap was born on January 1, 1972 in Mumbai, India.[2] He attended Stanford Graduate School of Business and received his M.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 1994.[3]
Career
Abhijeet worked for TCS, Cedartech and Siemens Medical Solutions before cofounding a digital pathology company, BioImagene in 2002.[4] Later in 2004, the company acquired image management company, Scimagix Inc.[5] In 2006, BioImagene acquired Tissue Informatics Inc.[6][7][8] BioImagene was later acquired by Roche Holding AG for 100 million USD.[9][10][11]
Abhijeet currently holds 21 patents to his credit.[12] He is the founder of Optra Ventures, California.[13] Subsidiaries of Optra Ventures include Optra Systems, Optra SCAN and Optra HEALTH.[14][15]
Filmography
In 2011, Abhijeet Gholap produced his debut film, Deool under Devisha Films Productions.[16] In 2012, he produced his second film, Bharatiya on the social topic presented as a black comedy.[17][18] The following year in 2013, Abhijeet produced, Hou De Jarasa Ushir.[19]

Awards and nominations
Abhijeet received Late Rajiv Gandhi Sanganak Sarathi award in 2009.[3] His debut movie, Deool won the 59th National Film Awards for Best Feature Film.[23] Abhijeet received Golden Lotus Award (Swarna Kamal) at the hands of President of India.[13][24]
His third production film, Hou De Jarasa Ushir (2013) was selected among top 282 films for a nomination in Best Film Category for Oscars.[25][26][19]
