Ezekiel Sunday Shekara (born July 5, 2000), known professionally as Eazikial, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and musical producer. [1] Born in Yelwa, a street in Bauchi, Nigeria, into the Shekara family, he hails from Bogoro local government in [[Bauchi State|Bauchi state], northern Nigeria. Musically, he was strongly influenced by global musicians like Céline Dion, 2Baba, Charlie Puth, Wande Coal, Jon Bellion, John Legend, and Beyoncé. In 2022, he gained national recognition with his hit song “Maria,” which became a trending sound on Nigeria’s TikTok. [2] Also, he earned a chart entry on Nigeria’s TurnTableTop 50 single chart and Viral Chart on Spotify.
Early life
Eazikial (called by others, hit maker) of the Ezekiel Snr Shekara, an ex-veteran of the Nigerian Army and Dinatu Jummai Ezekiel, an ex-midwife and nurse of Lafia Clinic (a then Medical Hospital in Yelwa Makaranta Bauchi), who were both members of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Yelwa Makaranta. Born in Yelwa Makaranta, Bauchi, where he was raised as a Christian believer. Being the sixth child of the family’s seven children, Eazikial had four sisters and two brothers, namely; Naomi, Wumshi (Late 2021), Solomon (Late 2021), Happiness, Emmanuel, Amanda, and Tabitha (his only younger sibling).
Early musical career
Growing up in faith, Eazikial’s musical journey began in the church choir. His early exposure to gospel music laid the foundation for his music career, blending traditional rhythms with modern Afrobeats. Eazikial professionally kicked off his musical journey in the year 2022 with a debut “sounds”
