Abraham H Parnassus

Abraham H. "A.H." Parnassus was one of the last "oil barons" in the United States. Known for his ruthlessness and success in the American oil industry, Parnassus is best known for his rivalry with H.R. Pickens.

Personal Life

Circumstances surrounding Parnassus's birth led to innovations in medical technology, like the use of an early form of the neonatal incubator. Parnassus suffered from "soft bones" throughout his life but always claimed that the experience of being "cooked" as a newborn "hardened (his) spirit."

Parnassus married at least once and had at least child: Mordecai Parnassus. Mordecai's mother was the granddaughter of Pickens and Parnassus considered Mordecai's existence "his final revenge" against Pickens.
