Academia Brasileira de Astrologia Védica (pronounced [akadeˈmi.ɐ bɾaziˈlejɾɐ dʒ(i) aʃtɾoloˈʒi.ɐ ˈvɛdʒikɐ]; ABAV; English: "Brazilian Academy of Vedic Astrology") is a Brazilian non-profit society of vedic astrologers and also the main institute of the theme in Brazil.[1] The first president, André Kërr, declared its foundation with the other founding members and started its operations on April 26, 2017 and then on May 3, 2022 in the Akshaya Tritiya, the association assembly declared its institutional reform.[2] The vedic astrologer B. V. Raman was elected patron of the institution.[3]
Aim And Objectives[edit]
The aims of the Brazilian Academy Of Vedic Astrology are:
- Promote Vedic astrology throughout the Brazilian national territory and portuguese-speaking countries through multiple communication vehicles, such as internet, television, events, magazines and news;
- Develop national technologies and tools that would help to structure jyotish scenario in the lusophone world;
- Foster research on the topic using statistics and its due methodological rigor;
- Publicly promote notable professionals by granting them awards;
- Help to improve the quality of life of associated astrologers by promoting their union, health and well-being;
- Translate, edit, revise and publish traditional jyotisha texts and new Portuguese-speaking authors;
- Ensure the quality of professionals, services and technologies through quality certifications;
