As-Sunnah Foundation is a Bangladeshi non-political and non-profit religious organization.[1] It works on various issues including education, Islamic da'wah and human welfare. It was founded in 2017 by Shaikh Ahmadullah and has been managing it since its inception as chairman.[2][3][4] As-Sunnah Skill Development Institute and Madrasah program called Madrasatus-Sunnah have been launched under this organization.[5] The organization works on the principles of education, service and da'wah. The organization conducts various service-oriented activities including distribution of relief among the flood victims, distribution of clothes among the cold, distribution of food among the hungry.[6][7]
Aims and objectives
Ahmadullah established the organization in 2017, but in 2018 he returned home after being released from the West Dammam Islamic Dawah Center in Saudi Arabia and started the activities of As-Sunnah Foundation in full swing and started promoting the program by opening a Facebook page in late 2018.[2]
The organization conducts activities with the motto of education, service and da'wah principles and in the interests of the Ummah and with the Sunnah. According to the mission and objectives of the organization, it follows the last prophet of Islam, Muhammad, works on social service, social reform, propagation of good thoughts, employment generation, poverty alleviation, education expansion, free healthcare etc.[8]
Activities
Charitable activities
The organization was praised for its charitable activities during the 2020 Corona outbreak.[2] In 2022, the organization conducted relief operations in Sylhet and Sunamganj regions when heavy floods occurred.[3][9]It also assisted in the rehabilitation of flood victims in Chittagong.[10] In 2023 The organization sent winter clothing to Turkey during the TurkeyâSyria earthquake.[11][12]It also runs winter clothing distribution programs in various locations within Bangladesh.[13]The organization has planted millions of trees through tree planting programs across the country.[14][15] The organization also provides cash or labor. Employment arrangements by purchasing machines,[16][17] and distributing sacrificial meat throughout the country.[18][19]
Dawah and education programs
In addition, the organization conducts a Dawah training, a training program to increase the knowledge and skills of scholars.[20][21] Sheikh Ahmadullah himself published four books from As Sunnah Publication[22] The organization in 2021 to "As-Sunnah encourage young entrepreneurs" and 50 entrepreneurs were felicitated.[23][24][25]
