The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts or AIVA was founded in 1993 in New York City to identify and encourage excellence in the fields of interactive and visual arts. The academy is a collective of leading professionals from various visual arts disciplines dedicated to embracing and evolving traditional and interactive media.[1]
Members[edit]
Membership in the academy is by invitation only.[2] AIVA members are from diverse fields such as web design, graphic design, animation, video design, and user experience to review work.[3]
AIVA members include executives from companies such as Amazon, Big Spaceship, Chelsea Pictures, Conde Nast, Critical Mass, Disney, ESPN, GE Digital, IBM, Nextdoor, Spotify, Time Inc., The Nation of Artists, Wired, and the Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones.
Communicator Awards[edit]
Established in 1993, The Communicator Awards applauds excellence, effectiveness, and innovation across all communication domains as the leading international awards program in this highly competitive field.[4]
The Communicator Awards program has seven main categories[5]

The Award of Excellence is awarded to entrants who excel in communication within their field. The Award of Distinction is presented to projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.
