Solano NewsNet
Solano NewsNet is the name of a digital news startup that publishes breaking news, long-form journalism and community interest stories in Solano County, California.
The news outlet covers the Solano County region of Northern California, with news updates published related to current events in the cities of Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Suisun City, Vallejo and Vacaville. It currently operates through various social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, as well as via a local newsletter published on Substack.
The news operation was founded in August 2020 as Solano News Update, a newsletter that offered updates on the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire, which was in progress at that time. It expanded the following January with an announcement[1] of a full-fledged local news operation, with a website teased as coming later in the summer.
