Accredited Genealogists Ireland was founded in 1986. It acts as an accrediting and representative body for professional genealogists across the island of Ireland. Admission to membership is via the recommendation of an independent Board of Assessors. Applicants must not be engaged in full-time work outside of genealogy and must be resident in Ireland for a majority of their time.
