The group celebrated their 25th anniversary with a concert in Athlone in 2008 which was attended by more than five hundred people. The choir are noted for their Christmas activities through which they have raised more than €35,000 for various local charities. The group made headlines in 2006 when they acted as backing singers for pop star Michael Jackson while he recorded at the former Sunset Studios, owned by the late musician Gerry McGrade. The choir performed at Mr McGrade's funeral in 2007. The group made the news again in October 2009 with the revelation that they have a recording of Michael Jackson singing The Fields of Athenry with them.
