activeCollab is a web-based project management and collaboration tool, founded in 2006. [1]

    History[edit]

activeCollab was launched in 2006 by Ilija Studen as an open source software. It subsequently, in 2007, became proprietary software developed by A51. [2]

Initially it was available as a self-hosted version only.[3] In 2013 the cloud version was introduced.

    Features[edit]

Projects are divided into milestones, tasks and subtasks.[4] Projects also include files, discussions and notebooks for collaborative writing.[5][6] Time tracking, Invoicing and Notebooks modules are also available. In 2013, activeCollab launched an iOS app for cloud users under the name Manage Projects.[7]

    API[edit]

API is available for connecting activeCollab to other apps.[8] activeCollab integrates with payment gateways including Paypal, Authorize.Net, Stripe and Braintree, which enables receiving payments within the system.
