Adam Oster (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) was an Austro-Hungarian businessman and prominent society man in Velimirovac. He was a leading society man, believed to have held public office during the late 19th century.[1]
He first established a successful village store, and eventually owned land and other businesses.[2] He was described as the paragon of a burgher.[3]
Oster married Elisabetta Becker, with whom he had five children: Adam Oster Jr., Fredrich, Margarethe, Theresa, and Elisabetta. One of his grandsons, Adam Rettinger (1902 - 1921), was killed when a plane crashed into his fishing boat at Belle Isle Park in Detroit Michigan.[4]
Oster's descendants have had notable achievements in the fields of business, academia, and religious leadership.[5]
