Address is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language film, written and directed by Rajamohan. The film features Esakki Barath in the lead role alongside Atharvaa in an extended cameo appearance. The film also features Pooja Jhaveri, Dhiya, Thambi Ramaiah, Devadarshini, A. Venkatesh, Poster Nandakumar, Nagendran, Goli Soda Muthu, and others in supporting roles.

Address is scheduled to release in theatres on 7 March 2025.

Premise

The film is based on real life incident in 1956 involving the struggles of a village on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border during the state bifuraction.[1]

Development

Began in August 2015, the project titled Rukkumani Vandi Varudhu directed by Rajamohan of Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum (2009) and Vanavarayan Vallavarayan (2014) fame starring Atharvaa and Pooja Jhaveri in the lead roles[2] and produced by Deepa Iyer got shelved in 2017 after completing 40% of the filming in Kodaikanal.[3][4] In late June 2021, Rajamohan announced his collaboration with the same pair in his next project titled Address, with Goli Soda 2 (2018) fame Esakki Barath in the lead role with Atharvaa playing an extended cameo appearance as Kaali with Pooja Jahaveri as his female pair.[5] The film also features debutant Dhiya, Thambi Ramaiah, Devadarshini, A. Venkatesh, Poster Nandakumar, Nagendran, Goli Soda Muthu, and others in supporting roles.[6]

The technical team consists of music composer Girishh Gopalakrishnan, cinematographers Krishnakumar Venkatasamy and Srinivas Dayanidhi, and editor Tamil Arasan.[7] The film is produced by Ajey Krishna and co-produced by G Pradeep Kumar, M Absha Mydeen, K Arul Selvan, Venkatesh Venugopal, and A M Jayaram jointly under Cocktail Cinemas and SS Media.[8]

Filming

Principal photography primarily took place in Kodaikanal and in a neraby hamlet named Vellakavi[1] which got wrapped in mid-October 2021.[9]
