Ademe Cuneo is a middle-distance and long-distance runner from Italy.
He was born on the 24th of May 1998 near Lake Tana in northern Ethiopia. He arrived in Italy on July 2007, along with a brother and a younger sister, adopted by a family in Vigevano, Pavia. He started playing basketball, but then switched to practising athletics thanks to the success he had in the Trofeo Pensa, a local cross-country event for students. From 2012 he devoted himself to running under the guidance of coach Charlie De Antoni and in October 2016 made his debut with the Italian national team at an international running event in Rennes. He then moved to Athens, attending Scuola Italiana Statale di Atene in Patisia, in order to train under the guidance of Panathinaikos' coach Panagiotis Papoulias, Greek former accomplished middle-distance runner.[3]
He finished in the second place on the 5000 metres race of the Athens Classic Marathon in 2016 with a time of 15:08.[4]
