Abdullah Aderemi Adegbite also known as Aderemi Adegbite (born 28 February 1982 in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian photographer, poet, multimedia artist and publisher. He lives and works in a suburb of Lagos, Iwaya, a neighboring community to Makoko.
Early life[edit]
Aderemi Adegbite born in a hospital in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State. He is the first child of four. He grew up in Lagos. His parents are from Inisa, Odo-Otin local government area in Osun State, southwestern part of Nigeria. He attened three primary schools between Lagos and Osun states to complete his primary education in the early 1990s due to the political situation in Nigeria at that time. He went to Olumo memorial primary school until primary 4 and then moved to Ekosin. He lived with his cousin who was a teacher at Ekosin Ahmadiyya primary in Odo otin local government area, Osun state. He moved back to Lagos when he was in primary 6. And then moved back to Lagos in 1994 and enrolled at Fazi-O-Mar primary school.

Culture Production[edit]
Aderemi started his artistic career through his involvement in the theatre. He trained with the playwright Lekan Balogun as a "stage hand" with the playhouse - Legendaire Theatre between 2002 and 2006. He established himself as a self-taught Culture Producer and Arts Manager in 2006 when he created an arts and literary project called: Poetry Potter.
As a Culture Producer, he has created and curated several arts and literary projects: Poetry Potter, Lagos Poetry Festival, WordSlam, Fashion Revolution and Fashion Revolution Reloaded. He initiated P.A.G.E.S and curated it in collaboration with the Centre for Contemporary Art in Lagos (CCA,Lagos).
Literary[edit]
Aderemi Adegbite started writing freely in his teen years and in 2005, he took poetry as his genre of interest. The defunct Daily Times newspaper[1] published some of his poems in its weekly poetry page. Some of his poems have appeared on online poetry platforms and in several anthologies.
Aderemi was invited by the Executive Council of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Lagos Chapter mid-2006 to become the Public Relations Officer under the chairmanship of Folu Agoi and served between 2006–2007.
In 2017, Aderemi published his first poetry collection titled: Romance and Reasons, published by ImageBooks.
Photography[edit]
Aderemi started photography professionally in 2010. His point of entry into photography is documentary and in 2012, he documented two major events in Lagos, the fuel scarcity protest, which became his first solo exhibition: "N65"[2][3] and the demolition of the Iwaya/Makoko waterfront[4].
Aderemi went ahead to use photography as part of his visual literature to narrate different stories. In 2014, he created a series with title "power-lines", a conceptual response to the 2012 demolition of Iwaya/Makoko waterfront[5]. He has since created different series to reflect on life and society. In 2015, Aderemi[6] participated in a residency in Indonesia at the Jogja Biennale[7][8]. He was the an artist-in-residence with the Bayreuth International Graduate School of International Studies[9] (BIGSAS) at the University of Bayreuth between 2015 and 2016.
