Adria Rae (born August 26, 1996) is an American pornographic actress and director. She entered the porn industry as an actress on August 3, 2015, at the age of 19, and her debut as director was in January 2019.[1] As of December 2020, Rae starred in 424 scenes as an actress, she also has directed seven scenes for Deeper Studios.[1]

Early life[edit]

Rae was born in Los Gatos, California, but she grew up in a small suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Growing up, her parents grew a lot of fruits and vegetables; her parents were vegan for the majority of her life.[2][3] From seventh to fourteenth grade, she went to a small school with just 300 students. At that time, she made some decisions that led to everyone in school seeing pictures of her naked.[3] She was 13 years old when it happened. Later that year, she lost her virginity to her 16-year-old boyfriend in the back of his car.[2][3]

Before getting into the porn industry, she worked for a financial firm for about six months.[4]

Career[edit]

After coming of age, Rae began filming on a webcam on the site MyFreeCams.com.[2][4] She began her career in the porn industry in August 2015, before she turned 19, filming for the PornPros studio.[4] Initially she worked under the pseudonym Aspen Reign, but after being contacted by a real person with that name, she had to change her pseudonym.[4] The first part of her new pseudonym - Adria - was found through a name generator, and the second - Rae - was taken because of its prevalence in the form of a surname.

In the summer of 2016, she first appeared in a scene with anal sex in the movie Anal Starlets 3 by the studio Evil Angel. In April 2017, she signed an exclusive contract with the VR studio WankzVR.[5] In the summer of 2017, she first starred in a double penetration scene for Pierre Woodman's studio.[2] Adria Rae is represented by LA Direct Models.[4]

In May 2017 porn site Twistys chose her as a model of the month (Treat of the Month).[6] At the end of March 2018, she was declared Girl of the Month by the Fucking Awesome porn site.[7] In October of that year, she became Girlsway's Girl of the Month.[8] In late September 2020, she first appeared on the cover of Hustler magazine, for which she co-starred with Lana Rhodes.[9]

Attempted suicide[edit]

Rae experienced some difficulties in the past. At the beginning of 2018, Rae discovered that she was pregnant on the same day that it became known that her friend, the adult actress August Ames, committed suicide. Together, these two pieces of news led Rae to ask her agent to suspend an anal sex scene she had planned for the next day, which was canceled under a fine of $500.[10]

On May 9, 2018, Rae tweeted from her account that was subsequently suspended that three days earlier she had attempted suicide. The day after her suicide attempt, she was to shoot a scene that she did not attend and despite finding an actress to replace her, she was charged a $500 fine. Additionally, despite her agent Derek Hay's claims that so-called "kill fees" are only charged for same-day cancellations, Rae said that she was charged $1,354 for cancelling another scene two weeks in advance.[10] Hay prohibited her from doing any more scenes until she had a feasible medical discharge under penalty of a new lawsuit. The news, which came to light in the digital The Daily Beast, was published by the journalist and porn star Aurora Snow, who already knew in advance of the situation of the actress.[10]

Awards[edit]

In October 2016, Rae won the NightMoves Award for Best New Starlet (Editor's Choice).[11] A year later, she won the same award, this time in the category Best Unsung Female Performer (Editor's Choice).[12] At the end of January 2018, Adria, along with Melissa Moore and Elsa Jean, was announced the winner of the AVN Awards for Best Lesbian Group Scene (for Best New Starlets 2017).[13] In January 2020, Rae was one of seven winners of the XBIZ Award for Best Sex Scene - Virtual Reality for Santa's Naughty List.[14][15]

In September 2019, Rae made her directorial debut with a video titled Finish for Deeper Studios.[16]
