AeroNet Wireless is a Puerto Rican internet service provider offering fixed wireless and fiber-based connectivity for business and residential customers. The company was founded in 2001 by entrepreneur Gino Villarini.[1]
History
In February 2020, AeroNet announced a pilot of Facebook Connectivity’s Terragraph technology to provide multi-gigabit wireless broadband in Old San Juan, citing deployment challenges for new fiber in the historic district.[2][3]
In April 2024, the company launched a business 10 Gbps internet service in Puerto Rico, reported by multiple local outlets.[4][5]
In August 2025, trade press reported that AeroNet began a multimillion-dollar upgrade using Tarana Wireless’s next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) equipment to extend gigabit-class service and expand coverage to additional municipalities.[6][7]
Operations and services
AeroNet offers dedicated internet access, fixed wireless access (FWA), fiber internet, and hosted voice (VoIP) to business and residential customers. Trade coverage has described the company as operating in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and South Florida.[8]
Disaster response
Following Hurricane Maria, AeroNet restored service and introduced redundancy offerings aimed at improving business continuity, according to contemporaneous business reporting.[9][10]
