Agia College is an institute of higher learning in the arts located between Agia and Solmari in Goalpara district of South Assam.[1] It was established on 22 August 1996.[1] It is affiliated to the University of Guwahati[1] and it Privatized in 2021. The motto of the college is “Tamaso Maa Jyotirgamay”.[2]

History[edit]

Agia College was established on 22nd August 1996 with the efforts of the local people of Greater Agia under the Chairmanship of Late Shri Mahesh Chandra Nath, Secretary Late Shaheed Roy and Chairmanship of Late Dr. Manoj Kumar Chakraborty. The institute of higher learning in the arts initially had five lecturers and 29 students.

The college was incorporated into the University of Guwahati in the 2013-14 academic year and will be privatized in.[1]
