Agshin Babaev (Azerbaijani: Aqşin Babayev; born April 17, 1986) is an Azerbaijani professional MMA fighter, 6-time Azerbaijani champion, 3-time World champion, 2-time European champion, Asian champion, three-time grappling champion of Azerbaijan, 3rd in the world.[1][2][3] MMA Record 22–7-0[4]

Agshin Babaev was born on April 17, 1986 in Salyan.

Career[edit]

Agshin first sport was wrestling. In 2001 Agshin went to Moscow. Agshin became a champion in combat sambo in Moscow. In 2006 he became the Republican champion. Agshin was the first in the professional fight in Georgia in 2006. He fought 3 battles in Kazakhstan in 2007 and was the first. Agshin fought 3 battles in Samara and won. He went to military service in 2007. He took a break for a while, and when he returned, he started training again. In 2011 he took the 3rd place in MMA in Kazakhstan. Later that year, he finished third in the European Championships in MMA Grappling Pankration.[5][not in citation given] In May 2010, Azerbaijan won the WS European tournament.[6][7][8][9][10][11]
