Agustín Laje Arrigoni (Spanish pronunciation: [aɣusˈtin ˈlaxe ariˈɣoni]) (born 16 January 1989, Córdoba)[1] is an Argentine political scientist recognized for co-authoring The Black Book of the New Left (Spanish: El libro negro de la nueva izquierda).

He currently serves as the director of the classical liberal think tank Fundación Libre, known for its often controversial conservative views. He also contributes articles to Argentine online media such as La Prensa, La Voz del Interior, Perfil, and Infobae.[2]

Career[edit]

Laje began his career in 2011 with a book on the National Reorganisation Process, questioning the number of disappearances claimed by human rights institutions.[3] He has criticized the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo and denounced the use of the White headscarf as a symbol of Marxist extremism.[4]

Throughout his writings, Laje has condemned Marxist guerrillas in Latin America, third-wave feminism, and the New Left. He argues that Western patriarchy does not exist and that men are the primary victims of social and economic exclusion.[5][6] He has also highlighted violence against men in romantic relationships, arguing that this data is often overlooked by the media.[7][8]

In The Black Book of the New Left, Laje and Nicolas Márquez criticize "gender ideology", which they define as anti-scientific and derived from a Neo-Marxist agenda.[9] He considers abortion part of this ideology and argues that pro-choice arguments are neither logical nor scientific.[10]

Education[edit]

Laje initially studied systems engineering at Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico but later switched to political science at the Catholic University of Córdoba. He also pursued graduate studies on counter-terrorism at the National Defense University's William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies.[11]
