Ahmad Zatari (Arabic: أحمد الزعتري, (Aḥmad aZ-Zaʿtarī); born 1979) is a Jordanian novelist and writer from Amman.
Biography
Ahmad Zatari, from Jordan, is an independent journalist as well as a writer. He has currently published two books with another forthcoming.[1] He wrote for the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar as a cultural correspondent and was also a program coordinator for the Freemuse Foundation in the Middle East and North Africa, which supports the freedom of expression in music. With this experience he founded the website www.ma3azef.com, which specialises in detailed articles and studies on music in the Arab world.
In 2014, Zatari's novel Leaning Over the Corpse of Amman was banned in Jordan.[2] The portrayal of a post-apocalyptic Amman included themes that the authorities found offensive. [3]
