Ahmed F. M. Hamdan (also known as AFMH) is a technology entrepreneur and inventor based in Spain. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Univers, a company that develops immersive retail technology, 3D digital media, and sustainable urban infrastructure.[1][2]
Early life and education
Hamdan studied international relations and political science at the University of West London. He also completed postgraduate studies in global leadership.
Career
Hamdan first became publicly visible in Marbella’s design and innovation circles through his work with the luxury shoe label The Kings. The brand appeared at the Marbella Fashion Show in July 2022, an event organised in cooperation with the City of Marbella, where Hamdan was listed among participants representing the province’s creative sector.[3][4][5]
Building on his design and media experience, Hamdan founded Univers in 2021, headquartered in Marbella. The company operates through four divisions — Univers Tech, Univers Studio, Univers Lab, and Univers Sustainability — covering software development, immersive retail environments, smart-city hardware, and research initiatives.[6]
Hamdan is associated with the conceptual development of V-Commerce, described as an immersive form of online retail that enables customers to explore three-dimensional virtual stores and purchase goods through integrated web or VR platforms.[7]
Univers and smart infrastructure
Beyond digital retail, Univers has developed renewable-energy urban devices through its Univers Sustainability division. Projects include solar-powered benches, adaptive street lighting, and prototype pavement tiles that generate electricity from pedestrian movement. These devices are managed by an in-house monitoring platform known as Torba OS.[8]
Media coverage
Univers and Hamdan have been featured in regional and international outlets for their work linking technology and design, including coverage associated with Gossip Stone TV’s docuseries *The Most Expensive Show*, which highlights entrepreneurs in the luxury sector.[9]
Recognition
Municipal and regional media have cited Hamdan among figures contributing to Marbella’s reputation as a growing hub for innovation and digital media.[10]
