Well known as "Ahmed Haaji Bakiin" (Axmed Xaaji Bakiin), Ahmed is originally from the autonomous Puntland region in northeastern Somalia.He was born in the coastal town of Kandala, situated in the northeastern Bari region of Somalia.He hails from a wealthy and royal family branch of the Cali saleeban sub-clan of the Majeerteen ,and Darod. His father served minister of interior and security of puntland. A multi-linguist, he is fluent in Somali, Swahili and English.[2] Faransiis
