Ahmed Khalil (artist name: DJ Mada, Mada) is an Egyptian DJ born in Suez. He began pursuing his DJ career at the age of 16 when he started performing at a local club in his hometown..[1] His passion led him to play at prestigious hotels and clubs in Cairo, Alexandria, and soon he became the resident DJ of various hotels Hurghada.[2] He is mainly known for being the former resident DJ of Buddha-Bar Budapest[3], "playing a unique mix of Electronic and World music all featuring Ethnic vibes".[4]
Music Career[edit]
Mada started his DJ career in the hospitality sector in Hurghada as the resident DJ of various 5-star hotel chains and beach clubs:[5]
- Grand Hotel Hurghada
- Sheraton
- Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts
- Iberotel
In 2002 he moved to Hungary and started to perform mainly at underground clubs that led him to play at world-famous events such as the Cinetrip Spa Party series, Mayday gigs and the Sziget Festival.[6]
Since the opening of Buddha-bar Budapest, DJ Mada became the resident DJ of the venue and has performed at various other Buddha-bar venues all over the world: Paris, St. Petersburg, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Manila, and Baku.[7]
He remained the resident DJ of Buddha-Bar Budapest for 7 years[8] until the closure of the place (2019)[9]
In 2019 he was the resident DJ of Buddha-Bar Belgrade.[10]
