Ahmed Shaaek (Bengali: আহমেদ শায়েক) is a Bangladeshi corporate marketing manager and engineer.[1] He is the current marketing & media manager of Bangladeshi football club Bashundhara Kings.[2][3] He is also a member of Professional Football League Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation. In 2020, Shaaek became the first ever Bangladeshi to complete the UEFA Certificate in Football Management (UEFA CFM) from UEFA Academy.[4][5]

Career[edit]

Shaaek completed FA Coaching Level-1 from The Albion Foundation in 2011 under The Football Association. He worked four months for Fulham FC Foundation as an Community Development Assistant Coach in 2011. He also worked as a football coach in BRAC University, Independent University and University of Dhaka.[6]

In 2018, Shaaek joined as marketing and media manager of Bashundhara Kings, a newly promoted team of Bangladesh Premier League. He also works as AFC Club Licensing Manager and FIFA Transfer Matching System Manager for Bashundhara Kings.[7][8]

In September 2019, Shaaek got selected for 'UEFA Certificate in Football Management' course by the UEFA Academy which made headlines as he is the first and only Bangldeshi to take part in the course.[9][10]

In January 2021, he became a member of Bangladesh Professional League Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation as representative of Bashundhara Kings.

He is an AFC C Coaching Licence holder.
