Ahsan Khan Chowdhury (আহসান খান চৌধুরী) (born September 6, 1970 in Dhaka, Bangladesh) is Chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, one of the leading business conglomerates, starting from 2016.[1][2] [3] Previously he performed his duty as the Deputy Managing Director.[4][5]

Till the year 2017, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury received the CIP status (Commercially Important Person) for the seventh time[6] from Government of Bangladesh, in recognition of his significant contribution to the country's economy, special contribution to the export trade, and contribution to the industrial sector.[7][8][9]

Early life[edit]

Chowdhury was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh on September 6, 1970.[10] Chowdhury initially studied in Dhaka and later he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Wartburg College, Iowa, USA in 1992.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

After returning to Bangladesh, Chowdhury joined in the board of Directors of Rangpur Foundry Ltd. in 1992 at the age of 46.[11] He had been serving the conglomerate as its deputy managing director.[12][13][14]

After the death of his father Amjad Khan Chowdhury (founder of the conglomerate PRAN-RFL Group), his son Ahsan Khan Chowdhury was appointed as the company’s new chairman and chief executive officer (CEO).[1]

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury is a visionary leader and accomplished businessman who has been instrumental in the growth and success of PRAN-RFL Group. Under his leadership, the company has grown from a small trading firm to a diversified conglomerate with a presence in over 135 countries.

One of Chowdhury's key achievements has been his focus on innovation and technology. He has invested heavily in research and development, and has established a state-of-the-art research and development center to develop new products and improve existing ones. This has helped PRAN-RFL Group to become a leader in its various sectors and stay ahead of the competition.

Chowdhury was selected as Commercially Important Person (CIP), for significant contribution to the export trade and in recognition of his significant contribution to the country's economy in 2014, 2015, and 2016.[7][6]

He is one of the Sponsor Directors and a member of the Executive Committee of the Midland Bank Limited,[17] and also the Chairman of Risk Management Committee of the Bank.
