Aidoc is a Tel Aviv, Israel-based company that creates deep learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) systems to support radiologists.[2][3][4][5]
History
Aidoc was founded in 2016 by Elad Walach (CEO),[4] Michael Braginsky (CTO) and Guy Reiner (VP R&D), who had previously specializing in AI technologies for nearly a decade.
The company raised a total of US$40 million in funding, with series B round being led by Squarepeg capital.[6]
In August 2018, Aidoc became the first company in the world to receive clearance for a direct-to-radiology computer-aided traige (CADt)[7] and gained FDA clearance for its flagging pulmonary embolismin chest CTs solution.[8][9][10][11] In January 2020, it technology for detecting large-vessel occlusions (LVOs) in head CTA examinations gained FDA clearance.[12][13][14]
It was named one of TIME magazine’s ‘50 Genius companies’ in 2018,[15] and its founders were listed on Israel's[16] and Europe’s Forbes 30 under 30 lists.[17]
Aidoc won radiology magazine Aunt Minnie’s ‘Best New Radiology Software 2019’ award.[18]
Technology and usage
Aidoc’s technology analyses medical images directly after the patient is scanned and notifies the radiologist of cases with suspected critical findings, assisting with prioritization of time-sensitive and potentially life-threatening cases in order to expedite patient care.[19][20]
It has been used by LucidHealt,[21] the University of Rochester Medical Center,[22] and Global Diagnostics Australia.[23]
