Ainvayi Ainvayi

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

"Ainvayi Ainvayi" is a song featured in the 2010 Bollywood film Band Baaja Baaraat (Wedding Planners), which starred Anushka Sharma and Ranvir Singh. The song was sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant, lyrics were by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the music was composed by Salim-Sulaiman. The official soundtrack album information describes it in the film as an energetic, fun, funky "jugalbandi-of-sorts" between the two wedding planners, which "aims to liven up a boring wedding".[1]

The film's soundtrack album was released in November 2010,[1] more than a month prior to the December theatrical release of the film.[2] In its review of the album and song, Sawf News stated that one would "probably want to see the movie just for this song".[3] The review in ApunKa Choice noted that "Ainvayi Ainvayi" was the only chartbuster of the album, and listed it as the album's best track.[4] Joginder Tuteja in Bollywood Hungama described the album as "one of the better soundtracks that one has heard from the house of Yash Raj Films in last couple of years", "one of the best works of Salim-Sulaiman", and "much more than just a regular fun album". He selected "Ainvayi Ainvayi" as the disc's best track.[5]

The Telegraph of India named the song one of the 10 best Bollywood releases for the year 2010, stating that "Buoyed by the lead pair’s youthful energy, this one really got the feet moving."[6] Hindustan Times, which called the song a "fast-paced dance number with electrifying beats",[7] listed it as number 6 in the Top 10 songs of the week of 9 January 2011,[8] and cited it as one of the Top 10 caller tunes of 2010 as compiled by Airtel.[9] In 2013, it was one of the 21 songs included in "Apna Bombay Talkies", a music video and film song celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.[10][11]

At the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Awards, the song won the award for Best Song Recording (Vijay Dayal), and garnered nominations for Best Playback Singer – Female (Sunidhi Chauhan) and Best Lyricist (Amitabh Bhattacharya).[12][13][14] "Ainvayi Ainvayi" also received nominations for GiMA Award for Best Film Song,[15] GiMA Award for Best Female Playback Singer,[15] GiMA Award for Best Lyricist,[15] GiMA Award for Best Music Arranger and Programmer,[15] Star Screen Award for Best Choreography,[16] Apsara Award for Best Female Playback Singer,[17] and Apsara Award for Best Choreography.[17]
