Air Italy Egypt was a charter airline based in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, operating out of Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport.[1]
History
The airline was established in 2006 as a joint-venture between Air Italy (75%) and an Egyptian tour operator (25%), and started operations in April 2007 as 'Euro Mediterranean Airlines' using a single Boeing 757-200 aircraft.[2] In September 2009, the aircraft was sold and the airline was renamed Air Italy Egypt, with a plan to transfer Air Italy's sole Boeing 737-800 to the airline; however, this never materialised. The airline ceased operations in late 2009.
