Air Mobile Ministries is a charitable organization[1] founded by former NASA Pilot, Joe Hurston.[2] The founder of Air Mobile Ministries is well known for flying life-saving heavy-duty water purifiers to people imprisoned in conflict zones and natural disaster areas on charitable missions.[3] A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Air Mobile Ministries provides disaster aid to people worldwide.

History

Since its founding in 1978, Air Mobile Ministries has traveled around the world numerous times, bringing medical supplies, food, clothing, and, most recently, the Air Mobile Rescuer water purifying system to those in desperate need of assistance.

Joe Hurston and his dedicated team have worked tirelessly to assist catastrophe victims in the aftermath of natural disasters[4] and war-stricken areas. Since then, they have successfully provided 1,400 of the self-designed and self-made kits to locations worldwide, including Haiti, Sri Lanka,[5] the Philippines, Nepal, and the aftermath of storms here in the United States.

Mission Statement

The purpose of Air Mobile Ministries is to provide safe drinking water to disaster-stricken places worldwide. The water filtration systems they deliver weigh around 30 pounds. Each system utilizes a filter and ultraviolet light to rid the water of potentially lethal bacteria or chemicals that may have entered after water lines. Likewise, each system can purify up to 25 gallons of water per hour. This amount of fresh drinking water is sufficient for around 1,000 individuals.[6]

In the News

His most recent mission, which will occur in March 2022, is to deliver water purifying kits to Ukraine.[7] According to Joe Hurston, the idea is to concentrate on isolated locations or cities that have suffered significant damage, such as damaged sewage and water lines that have caused cross-contamination.

According to Joe Hurston, the idea is to fly to Poland and then cross the Ukraine border on foot. Hurston will depart from Florida on Saturday, March 19, for Poland, where he will deliver ten water purifiers capable of giving clean drinking water to 10,000 people every day. Hurston is convinced that he will bring them to where they need to go despite several entering Ukraine's active battle zone.
