Fichyo[2] (Nepali: फिच्यो) is a 2019 Nepali- Gurung film written, directed and edited by Bikash Ghale Gurung. It portrays the story of a simple village girl who has to fight against her family, ethics and political leaders for the sake of her love. The film was produced by Santi M. Gurung (USA), Sub. Mantri Jung Gurung (Nepal), Buddhi Maya Gurung (Iraq) and Avinash Mangsum (India). The film was first screened on March 14, 2020,[3] with extremely positive reviews from critics and audiences for its rawness, screenplay, performances and direction.[4]

Plot[edit]

Fichyo wants to marry Mukhiya, with their parents initially agreeing to the marriage. However, when ethnic conflict shatters the village's former unity, their marriage is thrown into question. Fichyo and Mukhiya must calm the conflict for the sake of their marriage and the village as a whole.
