Air Sierra Leone is the flag carrier of Sierra Leone, and was founded on 2 December 2024.
History
In a press release in October 2024, the Sierra Leone government has announced the launch of a new airline, Air Sierra Leone, beginning flights between Freetown International Airport and London Gatwick three times a week. Flights would be operated by wet-leased aircraft of XE Jet (Nigeria). It was claimed the inaugural flight would operate on 2 December 2024; however, the launch was postponed following problems with ticket sales.
The country’s previous flag carrier Fly Salone ceased operations in March 2016.
